Good fortunes are not bad at all; they rather improve the quality of life. We try to acquire mansions, cars, wealth, etc. for these things contribute to a comfortable and enjoyable life in no small way.

Having good fortune or working hard for good fortune is not a problem, but running after good fortune is a problem. Running after good fortune means you have desired good fortune so much that you would do anything it takes, no matter how bad it is, in order to possess it.

In the chase after good fortune, people kill, steal, embezzle, lie, deceive, etc. so as to come into great riches. People who are chasing after good fortune employ all manner of dishonest means to get it.

And by so doing, they lose their peace of mind when the consequences of their evil decision and evil deeds begin to pop up.  The life and end of such people are always pathetic; they often commit suicide or they are haunted, arrested, imprisoned, sentenced to death, etc.
